Wizards Biggest Win Since 1978

The Wizards won the 2010 NBA Draft Lottery. They had a 10% chance (5th best odds). That means that something unexpected and good happened to DC sports, instead of predictable and bad. I am speechless. Thus the short sentences and lack of exclamation points. John Wall, welcome to DC.

  1. How will the Wizards/Sea Dogs blow this one?!

  2. All though I am a huge John Wall advocate...that includes doing the dance when playing basketball as well as starting a "we want John Wall chant" at the wizards game.... Yet, i really cant see Agent Zero and Wall working together. Evan Turner might just be the better choice

  3. Passing on Wall would be the equivalent of the Nats passing on Strasburg. Just can't do it. He's a better prospect than Derrick Rose.

Wall's ceiling = somewhere near Dwyane Wade.

Turner's ceiling = somewhere near Brandon Roy.

I think you'd have to be nuts to go unconventional on this one.

  4. Passing on Wall because of Arenas' presence would be as smart as sticking your dick in a pencil sharpener.

  6. You can't not draft Wall based on anything related to Arenas. You get the world-class athlete, the guy who takes over at the end of games, who has lived with hype and then exceeded it for the most part. Best player since Durant. And that draft is the lesson: Take the guy who is 19 and already better than everyone else on the court with him. I laughed openly at the people who tried to argue that Oden's 7-footedness would be more valuable than the 19 year old whose scoring average WENT UP in conference play to over 30 PPG, was always the best player on the floor, as well as a superior athlete.

In the NBA, more than any other "big 4" sport, it is possible to spot talent from the proverbial "mile away". In this case, its about to cross you over and make a deposit protected by the Federal Dunk Insanity Commission.
