Remembering Greivis Vasquez

Today, the legend of Greivis Vasquez was murdered by some scrub from Michigan State named Korie Lucious, averaging a paltry 4.9 points per game on the season. Suffice to say, GV was one of Maryland's all-time greats.

Let us gather to mourn and to share our fondest memories of the Venezuelan sensation. Leave these in the comments section when you deem yourself psychologically capable, and perhaps we can create some sort of Top 10 list.

I'll start: who could ever forget that swagtastic shimmy shake? Not I, Greivis, not I.

You will be missed. RIP, brotha.

  1. 10 years from now Id be very surprised if I could off hand remember this year's national champion. However, without a doubt, Ill still have a clear memory of this game and Vasquez's sheer domination of the last few minutes and his ability to will his team to a near miracle comeback victory.

No doubt one of the best to come out of CP. If we had one more big man to control the boards this game would have turned out differently.

  2. Gosh this one hurts...this is the last batch of players who were on the team when I was an undergrad.

GV's first trip to Cameron will always stand out in my mind. The game was the perfect microcosm of his four years in the program. Fearless.
